What happens during the Pregnancy stage?

Pregnancy changes week to week, and the questions change with it — which is why weekly, dated information helps more than one long guide.

  • Each week brings different physical changes, and what felt urgent last week often resolves on its own.
  • Appointments, tests and decisions arrive on a schedule nobody explains in advance.
  • Sleep, energy and appetite shift in ways that are rarely linear.
  • Preparing — the room, the bag, the leave, the plan — starts competing with simply getting through the day.

Pregnancy week by week

Every week from 1 to 41 has its own page: how your baby is developing, what may be happening in your body, and what comes next.

How does ParentSide understand the Pregnancy stage?

Pregnancy is the stage where information is most abundant and least reassuring: search anything and you will find the worst case first. ParentSide's approach is to be specific to the week you are actually in, to name what is ordinary without promising that everything is fine, and to be clear about where our content ends and a clinician's begins. We are not a medical service and never diagnose. What we can do is make the week legible, and put you next to people who are in it at the same time — which is usually what stops a small worry becoming a night of searching.

What can parents at the Pregnancy stage find on ParentSide?

  • Today

A dated weekly view: what is happening now, rather than a guide covering all nine months at once.

  • Same-stage community

Parents in the same week, which makes "is this normal?" a conversation instead of a search.

  • Baby names

Reviewed meanings, origins and real popularity data for when the shortlist starts.

  • Expert services

Bookable support from professionals when you want a person, not a page.

Common questions

Does ParentSide give medical advice?
No. ParentSide is not a medical service and does not diagnose or prescribe. Content explains what is commonly experienced and is clear about when to speak to a clinician.
Is the content specific to my week?
Yes. Pregnancy content is organised by week, so what you see reflects the week you are in rather than pregnancy in general.
