The 0–3 month stage
The newborn months, when sleep is broken and days have not settled into a routine yet. ParentSide keeps things small here: one idea a day, information about what is ordinary in these weeks, and a community of parents who are awake at the same hours you are.

In the first three months days are usually shaped around feeding and sleep rather than a plan, and a fixed routine is not something to expect yet.
- Feeding and sleeping fill most of the day and night, in stretches that rarely repeat.
- Your face and voice are likely to be among the things your baby is most interested in during these weeks.
- Crying does not always have one cause or a quick fix, and staying with your baby is a response in itself.
- The adults are recovering too. Physical recovery, broken sleep and a completely changed day all land at once.
Month by month
Each month has its own page: how your baby is developing, everyday care, and how you may be feeling.
How does ParentSide understand the Baby 0–3 months stage?
In the newborn months there is a great deal of advice around and not much of it is easy to apply at 3am. ParentSide asks less of you here than at any other stage: the daily idea takes two minutes, needs nothing you do not already have, and skipping a day leaves nothing to catch up on. We also treat the newborn period as something happening to the whole household rather than only to the birthing parent — partners are addressed directly, not as helpers.

Common questions
- What can you actually do with a newborn?
- Mostly face, voice and touch. Holding your baby where they can see your face, talking through what you are doing, and a slow song at a predictable moment are all age-appropriate — nothing here needs materials or preparation.
- Is there a routine at this stage?
- A fixed routine usually does not settle yet. The first three months tend to bring changeable rhythms rather than a schedule, and those rhythms shift often.
