Yogurt with peach purée
SnackPrep 8 minCook 10 minPortions: 2
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of pasteurised plain whole-milk yogurt
- 1 ripe peach
Method
- Peel the peach, remove the stone and cut it into small pieces.
- Cook in a very little water until it crushes easily with a fork, then purée it.
- Let the purée cool completely.
- Stir it into the yogurt; add no sugar and no honey, and serve straight away.
Texture
A smooth mixture thick enough to stay on the spoon, with no pieces of skin and no fibrous strands left.
Serving
Let it stand briefly rather than serving it straight from the fridge. Introduce foods that can trigger an allergic reaction one at a time and in small amounts, so you can spot any reaction.
Preparing for choking safety
The peach's stone and skin must be removed and no pieces may remain in the purée. Unpasteurised dairy is not used.

Storage
Serve as soon as it is mixed; this recipe is not reheated. Throw away a half-eaten portion rather than keeping it.
Safety
Your baby should be sitting upright and someone should stay with them while they eat. Add no salt, sugar or honey; honey is not given before one year. Babies do not all manage the same texture at the same age — follow your baby's pace rather than pushing. If your baby has an allergy, eczema, or a family history of allergy, talk to your GP or health visitor before introducing new foods.
