What this helps with
A midwife or nurse teaches you the ordinary things nobody demonstrates in advance — bathing, cord care, nappies, and how to read what your baby is telling you. Learning it calmly beforehand is easier than at 3am.
What happens
Daily care and hygiene, cord and skin care, and newborn cues and normal patterns. Partners and grandparents can attend. Anything about your baby's health — feeding difficulty, jaundice, fever — goes to your paediatrician.
